Sex & Marriage

**DISCLAIMER** : I’m not talking about EVERYONE…. just those that this pertains to… 🙂

What’s with the married couples and openly talking about their lack of sex since they got married? “I said ‘I do’ and she said ‘I don’t…anymore” … “It was the wedding cake…. it dried her out” or the infamous “Oh we’re married now, I don’t know what sex even means”.

I was guilty of those jokes when I was married (the first time)….so I speak from experience.

How does that happen? Is it really the wedding cake? Is it the actual wedding that stresses you out so much that you just never want to have sex again? Or is it years after the wedding that you just get bored with one another, and you’d rather be doing ANYTHING else than making love to your “life partner”? Or maybe you are so bored that you went out and found it somewhere else because it seemed “new and exciting” …at the time…..

Keeping a marriage fun and exciting isn’t always easy, especially when you are with the wrong person, however you made the vows – wouldn’t you want to at least TRY to make it work? Why not go on Pinterest.com and look up some inexpensive romantic ideas for a date night, or recipes for a sweet surprise dinner, or how to set up a picnic in your own living room. Think of fun new things you may want to do and incorporate your spouse in them.. Get your shit together, keep it sexy and stop making excuses….. both of you.

Now I’m not talking about when kids come into play…. this phenomenon happens well before children, it just gets heightened when you start a family (from what I’m told…. can’t wait). 🙂

Or maybe in my case it takes a “starter marriage” to do all the wrong things and know better for the next time around…. I for one am thankful for my second chance and will do everything in my power to keep it sexy for the next 60 years…. I’m confident he will too. 🙂
