So – my husband left for work around 4 this morning, and I couldn’t go back to sleep…. So naturally I started watching Netflix. I came across a movie called “Stuck in Love” starring Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Connelly. It’s about a divorced family of 4 and their journey to get their family back together. The wife cheated on the husband (a famous novelist) and then married the man she cheated with (it happens). The daughter follows in her father’s footsteps as a writer, all the while hating her mother for cheating on her father. The son is in high school and basically has writers block, but is in love with a girl that has a boyfriend and way too many secrets. The dad keeps holding on and hoping that his wife comes home, which happens a lot in divorces – either the ex wife or ex husband is waiting for the other to come back, only to be sorely disappointed when they don’t – leaving them alone and bitter and sometimes never crawling out of that dark, lonely, bitter, victimizing hole they’ve been hiding in unwilling to see the light in life….. If something doesn’t work out, it’s for a reason. If someone was miserable enough to leave a marriage (which isn’t an easy nor a quick thing to do – I speak from experience), why would they want to come back and join in the dark hole? Get out and love your life! No one else is going to do it for you. There is the small percentage of divorced couples that do get back together and can make it work again — but those are few and far between in my opinion.
It probably doesn’t sound appealing but it really was a cute movie that made me cry! Shocker.
Anyway if you get a chance, and you like romantic movies — this one’s a good one 🙂
