Hi everyone!! For those of you that don’t know, my husband and I are expecting our first child VERY soon and we couldn’t be happier!
When I first found out that I was pregnant, I searched high and low for any information I could find on being a first time mom and also being pregnant at 35 and I found a lot of help from different people! My hope is to do the same for someone else who might be pregnant for the first time and is looking for anyone else to understand!
There were a few products that I couldn’t live without in my first trimester, and here they are!
The Flawless Belly – When I first started to feel a little “bulky”, these belly bands really helped me stay “compressed”, if you will. I was able to wear my regular jeans for a good 6 months into pregnancy before having to break down and buy maternity jeans (which I was WAY hesitant about anyway). The bulkier I got, I just left my regular jeans unbuttoned and put the belly band over it – it not only smooths everything out but it also keeps your jeans from falling down! Seriously – the best.
Preggie Pops – From week 4 to week 10, I was nauseous from the time I woke up to the time I went to sleep. Literally. I have to thank my friend Megan K for telling me about these Preggie Pops! I found them at Chamberlain’s but you can order them online. They are basically just nausea lollipops and they have them in drop form too if you don’t want the whole lollipop thing. They definitely helped with the nausea … I mean, obviously they aren’t magic but they helped for sure.
Maternity Support Belt – This was more into my second trimester, but around 6 months as soon as I started to show, I felt like my belly was just getting a bit heavy – everything was new for me and then I ran into this product. I know it looks like a weird contraption but…. Holy hell this was the BEST! As soon as I put it on, I felt the weight lift and I was much more comfortable! It is a little bulky to wear under clothes, but I don’t really care because my belly is supported. That’s what’s up!
Boppy Contoured Wedge – Along the same lines of my belly feeling heavy, when I would sleep on my side, I would feel like my belly was weighing heavy then too. I tried big body pillows, smaller pillows – anything that I thought would give me support and nothing was working until I found this! Yet another thing I haven’t been able to live without during my pregnancy! I’m normally a back sleeper, so the whole sleeping on your left side thing has been an adjustment … I usually switch sides throughout the night, but I move the wedge along with me. It’s much easier than the HUGE body pillow, that’s for sure and much more comfortable.

Thanks for stopping by! See y’all next week!
