Hi internet! Did you know that the fashion “rule” about not wearing white after Labor Day started by some very wealthy women in the late 1800’s who wanted to know who was “worthy” of being in their clique just from the clothes that they wore? The extremely rich ruled high society, however; when others became wealthy it became more and more difficult to distinguish between respectable old family money and the new money. In order to tell who was acceptable to these women who were already in the “in crowd”, they made up silly fashion rules that women were to follow. How sad is it that there are still women like this today, that bash and talk trash about those whose clothing don’t meet their standards? I think it was silly then and it’s silly now. So, just like Coco Chanel, I’m wearing white all year round. So there.
About the outfit:
I’m falling back in love with Abercrombie and their extremely versatile pieces! Fun Fact: I worked there years ago and I’m just as in love with them now as I was then!
