Hi friends!!! We’ve announced over on my Instagram that baby number 3 is a….. GIRL! We’ve never done a gender reveal before and have always waited to find out the gender of our babies on delivery day, so this was a big deal for us! We didn’t want to do the cake, or the smoke bombs so I was on the search for something different. We knew that we weren’t going to have a party because we don’t have a big support system in Atlanta and after we realized that, we decided that we wanted to do something privately.
I found this shop on Etsy that can custom make any message and roll it up into an empty, unfertilized quail egg and we found one with a Harry Potter theme so we loved that idea! I asked my best friend Ian if he would be the middle man for us and find out the baby’s gender to be able to order the surprise, and he of course said yes! We were going to Disney for Olivia’s yearly birthday trip so we thought, why not do it there?!? So we had Ian mail it to our house…. one problem though, shipping took a lot longer than anticipated and the package wasn’t arriving until the day we left! Dang it!
I was talking to my good friend, Chrissy, about it and without any hesitation at all – she said she was on her way to grab the package from our house and would overnight it to us in Orlando. What?!? Love her.
We had a character breakfast reservation at 1900 Park Fare on Olivia’s actual birthday so we decided that was the perfect place to crack our egg open! I had felt like it was a girl in the beginning and had dreams that we were having a girl, but then as the weeks went on I started to feel like it might be a boy. I think that was partially because SO many people kept giving their opinion and telling me that it was a boy, but the closer we got to the reveal, the more I felt my baby girl’s energy.
We are elated to add another little princess to our troop this summer and Olivia and Avery are going to be the best big sisters. Olivia is already very loving and protective of Avery, so I’m excited to see how loving they will be with the new baby. Who would have thought that I’d be a mama of girls who make my heart smile so big and fill my life with purpose?
Thank you so much for stopping by and following us on our journey to being a family of 5!
xo,
Crystal
