I love how I thought I knew so much when I first became a mom and I thought I knew what I would need. Now just having our third, I wanted to share the things that I truly needed and found helpful this time around! Keep in mind, that we have 3 girls and have kept a lot of what we’ve used before because we knew we weren’t done having babies.
- Solly Baby Wrap : If you’ve been here a while, you know that I love wearing my babies. Your baby spent the last 9 months in the womb and they can’t be expected to adjust to life outside of the womb right from the start. They still need and want to be close to mommy AND did you know that babies that are “worn” cry 33% less than those who aren’t?? The more you know.
- Water Wipes : These are hands down the absolute best wipes I’ve ever used for anything. Ever. They are 99% water and it shows! Cleans everything right up!
- Zip up onesies : Do NOT buy onesies with buttons. The last thing you want to be doing is snapping 104 buttons on your baby’s onesie at 3am, only to have to un do them again when they pee right after you dress them back up. We prefer the ones that zip from the feet – linked HERE. But, you do you boo.
- Breast Pump : I’ve talked about this pump before but I’m going to do it again. Best. Pump. Ever. (Not sponsored) The convenience level that I need for my life right now is pretty high and this pump makes my life a little bit easier.
- 5 Second Swaddle : This swaddle has been amazing and I recommend it to everyone, especially if you don’t like the whole “wrapping the baby up in a burrito, only to see that your baby’s arm has snuck out right before you finish” thing.
- Diaper Genie : I like having a place separate from the normal trash can to throw dirty diapers. We’ve had the same one for all three babies and it still holds up like a champ.
- Smilo Baby Lounger : This was a gift from a friend and it’s what the baby sleeps in at night…. unless she’s on top of me, because – well, breastfeeding and I’m tired.
There you have it! My top 7 newborn essentials for our third baby! We try to keep everything pretty minimal but these are my must haves for sure. Let me know what your essentials are in the comments below!
